July 23, 2018

Clients Affected: All clients and service providers who transmit trade data using EDI

The CBSA would like to advise stakeholders that the first systems enhancements to move towards fulsome electronic house bill functionality will be occurring in production in the fall of 2018, impacting the following CBSA applications:

  • ACI Air,
  • ACI Marine,
  • eManifest Highway,
  • eManifest Rail,
  • eManifest Housebills,
  • eManifest Notices and
  • Release Notification System (RNS).

The enhancements are described in a series of Addendum documents available from the Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU).

When these enhancements are migrated to the production environment at the end of October 2018* they will be voluntary, until the full release of house bill functionality at a later date*.

*The official dates will be confirmed in a subsequent bulletin.

Copies of the Addendum documents can be requested via email at the Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU) mailbox : [email protected]. Please indicate in the subject line “ECCRD Addendum“ and specify in the body of the message the applications for which the addendums are being requested.

Alternatively, the TCCU is pilot testing a new online tool for the distribution and download of ECCRDs called GCcollab. Clients who are already subscribed as GCcollab members may log on to the TCCU’s page, select “Files” and download copies from the appropriate subdirectories corresponding to the chapters that are of interest to you.

Clients who haven’t yet subscribed to GCcollab and who would like to participate in the pilot test may do so by sending a request to the TCCU mailbox : [email protected]. Please indicate “GCcollab” in the subject line. The TCCU will then send you an official GCcollab invitation to join the group.
