Canadian Pacific Railway's TYES Inventory System to be implemented in Southern Ontario Metro Toronto Area
During July of 2003, we began the implementation of a new inventory management system. This new system, Train and Yard Execution System (TYES) is designed to more effectively manage the movement of goods across our system.
The initial implementation of TYES began with a pilot project in Edmonton AB during mid July 2003, Red Deer AB in February 2004, Vancouver BC in May 2004, the BC Interior area in late May 2004, Southern Alberta in June 2004, Saskatchewan in early July 2004, Manitoba in early September 2004 and into Northern Ontario in October 2004. We have been operating in these locations since those times.
Our business processes and the TYES system are aligned and service delivery to our affected customer base is stable.
On October 23, 2004, we will be implementing the TYES system in the Southern Ontario Metro Toronto geographical area to assist in servicing your business. In advance of this implementation, we have been reviewing our business processes in these areas to ensure a smooth transition. This review included an assessment of each local service assignment, the circumstances surrounding its delivery of service, and an assessment of the ordering and work listing processes that accompany the assignment work.
Representatives of our Customer Services Team from Winnipeg Manitoba may have already been in contact with you to review such things as order/release cut off times, fax/e-mail standards, and service timing.
We will continue validating that we have the standardized operating processes that will ensure our success in meeting your servicing needs utilizing the TYES system.
