The following information has been provided by Mr. Clayton Gording, VP of Operations for Reimer Express. Thanks to Wendy Archambault of the British Columbia Division for providing this update.
Current routing
All shipments originating in the U.S east of Minnesota are railed from Chicago to Seattle, Washington and then trucked to Blaine, Washington for Customs Clearance.
New routing -- Effective August 23, 1999
These same shipments will now be trucked directly from Chicago to Emerson, Manitoba for Customs Clearance. Transit time is 3 days.
Reimer has a hub at Emerson. Manifests and paperwork will be given to customs brokers in advance of shipment arrival for the preparation of PARS releases.
Anticipated volume is 12 to 15 trips per week or 2 to 3 trucks a day, all containing LTL freight. Each truck carries approximately 35 shipments.
